Mizukaze
Car 7 is “The Suite,” an exceptionally rare accommodation worldwide: the entire car serves as a single private room.
Car No. 7 is a full suite. It features a private entrance, a private balcony, a living and dining area, a bedroom, and a bathroom with a bathtub. “The Suite” occupies approximately 35 square meters and is the only one of its kind in the train.
The ten-car train has sixteen guest rooms, accommodating thirty-four guests. Cars No. 1 and No. 10 are observation cars with open viewing platforms at the rear of the train. The windows in the guest rooms can also be opened.
The train connects Kyoto Station and Shimonoseki Station, following either the San’in Main Line or the Sanyō Main Line. Four one-night, two-day routes are available, as well as one circular route lasting two nights and three days. Each itinerary includes time to disembark and explore local attractions once per day. Destinations include Onsenji Temple in Kinosaki Onsen, Shōka Sonjuku in Hagi, and the Amarube Viaduct overlooking the Sea of Japan.
Applications are accepted by lottery, not on a first-come, first-served basis.
